My 4 year old, who’s going on 30, absolutely loves shoes (it must be in the genes). Every time we enter a store whether it’s Target or Home Depot, she’s asking to see the shoes. Now I don’t know about you, but I’m sick of buying these expensive shoes that she grows out of or loses interest in after a couple of months. So I did a little digging.

I’ve always loved The Children’s Place, especially at the outlets, but I hardly see shoes there. Well checking on-line, I found out they are having a blowout sale on shoes and clothes. But since I’m all about the shoes, we’ll just focus on that.

Right now, The Children’s Place is selling kids kicks starting at $3.50 online! In some selections, you can buy 2 pair for only $25. From dress shoes to flip-flops; for boys and girls of all ages. Plus, it’s only $5 shipping on every order, big or small. The only down side is, you pick your child’s age when selecting the shoe size. Keep in mind; the size does not correspond with your child’s age. However, there is a shoe chart you can print out to measure their feet before ordering. On the up side, you don’t have to drag your tykes to the store. Just show them the selection online, and let them pick their favorite pair.

While searching the web to find out where I could donate my old friends, I found an organization called Shoes 4 the Homeless.  Now I’m not saying I would donate my stilettos, however, I would my flip-flop’s, ballerina slippers and Croc’s that were the rage a few years ago.   

Now I heard that a homeless person can go through a pair of shoes a month, and 10 year old Sondra Scroggin must know this because she started Shoes 4 the Homeless in Las Vegas.  For almost a year, Sondra and her father have gone door-to-door collecting shoes and have given about 100 pair to homeless men and women.  

I personally prefer to give my shoes to a charity like this opposed to the Goodwill or Salvation Army, because they are given to the needy, not sold.  

There are other organizations around the country like DawgBarkers’ in San Diego, The Shoe Bank in Dallas and Our Hearts to Your Soles in Pennsylvania.

Every shoe lover knows Christian Louboutin is famous for his red sole’s.  We also know he’s famous for his high prices.  A delicious pair of Louboutin’s can run from $400 to thousands.  And I just cringe when I see a lady flaunting her red sole Lou’s out in public (mainly because I cant fathom spending my mortgage on my feet).  But do we really know those red soles are lover boy Lou’s? Not unless we tell her to take those bad boys off and prove it to us. 

Searching around the web, I discovered another company that sells red sole shoes…Apple Bottoms!  A cute pair of boots with red soles by Nelly’s line sells for only $54.99 on www.drjays.com.  Also during my search, I found a pair of silver Lou’s on the Neiman Marcus website for $775.00.  However, these silver Christian Louboutin’s are only $169.00 on www.louboutinmall.com.
